Wednesday night August 6 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on “W-I-L-L Classical” you’ll hear Jaap van Zweden conduct the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra in Rachmaninov’s “2nd Symphony”, Mendelssohn’s “Fingal’s Cave” music, and Prokofiev’s “1st Violin Concerto”.
Tuesday night August 5 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on “W-I-L-L Classical” it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. You’ll hear Bruckner’s “4th Symphony”, the “Romantic”, Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Capriccio espagnole”, and Tchaikovsky’s “Francesca da Rimini”. Daniel Barenboim conducts.
Monday night August 4 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on “W-I-L-L Classical” it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. You’ll hear Mahler’s “3rd Symphony” from a concert recorded in 2014 with guest conductor Bernard Haitink at the podium.
Tonight at 6:00 on the “Evening Concert” on “W-I-L-L Classical” you’ll hear Zemlinsky’s “String Quartet” No. 3” on the “Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”. At 7:00 you’ll hear guitar music played by “Andres Segovia and his Disciples” on “Fiesta”.
Tonight at 7:00 on “W-I-L-L Classical” it’s “Gateways Radio”. You'll hear Florence Price’s “String Quartet No. 2” and Madeline Dring’s “Trio for Flute, Oboe, and Piano” featuring U of I faculty pianist Rochelle Sennet. Also on the program Mongo Santamaria’s “Afro Blue”. Loki Karuna hosts.
