Tonight at 7:00 we’ll pre-empt “The New York Philharmonic This Week” so that we can bring you a simulcast of the Illinois Republican Gubernatorial Debate. Four of the Republican candidates for Governor of Illinois square off in a debate moderated by H. Wayne Wilson, host & producer of WTVP’s “At Issue”.
Tonight at 7:00 on WILL-FM, it’s “The Evening Concert”. Gianandrea Noseda guest conducts the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra in Dvorak’s “7th Symphony”. Also on the program, Enrico Dindo is the soloist in Shostakovich’s 2nd Cello Concerto, plus some encores from the Bach solo Cello Suites.
Tonight at 7:00 on the "The Evening Concert" on WILL-FM, it’s the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Garrick Ohlsson is the soloist in Rachmaninoff’s 3rd Piano Concerto. Sir Mark Elder guest conducts. Also on the program: Dvorak’s “Water Goblin” and one of the “Slavonic Dances”, and Sibelius’ 1st Symphony.
Tonight it's the first of two specials from "The Mozart Festival." The first hour is devoted to Mozart's "Haffner" Symphony, with a performance by Camerata Salzburg, Louis Langree conducting. The second hour is devoted to Mozart's "Posthorn" Serenade. Gustavo Dudamel leads the Vienna Philharmonic in that work.

Leila Josefowicz is the soloist in Esa-Pekka Salonen’s “Violin Concerto”, with the composer conducting the New York Philharmonic. The listing differs from the one in Patterns Magazine.
Tonight at 7:00 on WILL-FM: it’s “The Evening Concert’. Yefim Bronfman is the soloist in Beethoven’s “Emperor” Piano Concerto with the the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Music Director Manfred Honeck conducts. Also on the program: waltzes and polkas by the Strauss’s, like “The Blue Danube”.

Also on the program: Mason Bates’ “Liquid Interface” and Bartok’s “Concerto for Orchestra”.
Tonight at 7:00 on the "The Evening Concert" on WILL-FM we celebrate the centenary of Benjamin Britten's birth (which was Nov. 22 of last year) with a special program on the man who said that music "has the beauty of loneliness and of pain". There'll be excerpts from 'The Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra" and other works.
