Tonight at 7:00 on WILL-FM it’s the first of our ‘new night’ for “The Evening Concert”, now on Sunday evenings from 7:00 to 8:00 featuring the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. Tonight the Escher String Quartet plays Beethoven’s Opus 132 A Minor String Quartet and Henry Purcell’s “Chacony”.
Tonight at 7:00 on WILL-FM’s “Evening Concert”, it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. Music Director Alan Gilbert leads the group in two of the symphonies of Danish composer Carl Nielsen, the 1st and the 4th. Also on the program Nielsen’s “Helios” Overture.
Tonight at 7:00 on WILL-FM’s “Evening Concert” Yefim Bronfman is the soloist in Tchaikovsky’s 1st Piano Concerto with the Los Angeles Philharmonic led by Gustavo Dudamel. Also on the program, the World Premiere of Peter Lieberson’s last composition “Shing Kham”, and Schubert’s 4th Symphony.

This original special from Illinois Public Media uses recordings from the Friends’ of WILL Music Library and features Mozart’s “A Musical Joke”, P.D.Q.Bach’s “1712 Overture”, Anna Russell’s Analysis of Wagner’s ‘Ring’ Cycle and other music jokes and routines.Vincent Trauth (firstname.lastname@example.org) is the host and producer of the program.

Duo Yamamoto plays Poulenc’s “Concerto for Two Pianos and Orchestra” and Debussy’s arrangement of Schumann’s ‘Canonic Etudes’. Also on the program Duo Yoo and Kim plays Ravel’s “Introduction and Allegro” and Saint-Saens “Variations on a theme of Beethoven.

Starting Sunday April 6th at 7:00 p.m. we add another day of the week to the "Evening Concert" series, with chamber music every Sunday evening from The Chamber Music Society of Lincon Center.
