Thursday night September 28 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s “The Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival”. You’ll hear Schubert’s “String Quintet in C Major”. At 8:00 it’s “The Middle”: a weekly live, call-in talk show focused on the people in the middle of the country. The programs differ from the listing published in Patterns Magazine.
Wednesday night September 27 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Recorded in early June of this year you’ll hear late works by Mozart: the Overture to “The Magic Flute”, the “Jupiter” Symphony, and the “Piano Concerto No. 27” with soloist Mitsuko Uchida.
Tuesday night September 26 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. You’ll hear Florence Price’s “3rd Symphony” and William Grant Still’s “Mother and Child”. Also on the program Beethoven’s “4th Symphony”.
Monday night September 25 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. You’ll hear Debussy’s “La Mer”, Stravinsky’s “The Rite of Spring”, and Beethoven’s “7th Symphony”.
Sunday night September 24 at 6:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 you’ll hear Beethoven’s Op. 29 String Quintet from Lincoln Center followed at 7:00 by music of Andrés Gaos on “Fiesta” and at 8:00 by Valerie Coleman’s “Portraits of Josephine” on “Gateways Radio”.
Thursday night September 21 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s “Carnegie Hall Live”. Susanna Malkki conducts the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra in Sibelius’ “2nd Symphony” and “Lemminkainen’s Return”. Also on the program Kaija Saariaho’s “Dream Wing”.
Wednesday night September 20 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Recorded in May of this year you’ll hear two world premiers by women composers: Ellen Reid’s “West Coast Sky Eternal” and Gabriella Smith’s “Lost Coast”. Also on the program Beethoven’s “7th Symphony”.
Tuesday night September 19 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. You’ll hear Schumann’s “Violin Concerto” with soloist Julia Fischer. Also on the program Tchaikovsky’s “Manfred” Symphony.
Monday night September 18 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. You’ll hear Beethoven’s “Violin Concerto” with soloist Joshua Bell. Also on the program Stravinsky’s “Suite from Pulcinella” and Chen Yi’s “Duo Ye” for Chamber Orchestra.
Sunday night September 17 at 6:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 you’ll hear Beethoven’s Op. 130 String Quartet from Lincoln Center followed at 7:00 by music of Manuel Ponce and others on “Fiesta” and at 8:00 by “Gateways Radio”.
