>>> I FEEL LIKE I HAVE BEEN LIKE WRITING AND LIKE RAPPING AND THINGS LIKE THAT BEFORE I EVEN REALLY KNEW WHAT HIP HOP WAS OR POETRY FOR THAT MAKER.
IT WAS SOMETHING THAT PUSHED ME TO WRITE OUT MY FEELINGS INSTEAD OF JUST SPEAKING THEM.
SO I AM NOT REALLY SURE WHERE CAME FROM.
IT WAS JUST THERE WITH ME.
IT DEFINITELY STARTED AT HOME WITH THE POETRY, BUT THEN IT EVOLVED.
I WAS ABLE TO GO ONLINE, AND THEN IT WAS MORE OF A COMMUNITY ASPECT TO IT WHICH I CAN THAT SEE I WASN’T THE ONLY ONE OUT HERE DOING AND ALSO JUST TO SEE IT WAS MORE FEMALES OUT THERE AS WELL DOING IT.  SO THAT’S WHAT PRETTY MUCH EVOLVED FROM ME GOING TO POETRY, NOW I FEEL LIKE I AM A RAPPER, AND THIS IS MORE WHAT I AM KEEN ON DOING.
I GOT INTO AN ORG ON CAMPUS AT U OF I CALLED “WORD.”
IT STOOD FOR WRITERS ORGANIZING REALISTIC DIALECT.
I JUST LIKED IT BECAUSE I LIKE TO WRITE.
I WASN’T REALLY THINKING OF DOING THIS AS A CAREER, SOMETHING I WANTED TO MOVE FORWARD WITH, UNTIL I GOT TO THAT GROUP.
IT WAS JUST LIKE THEY PUSHED ME.
AT THAT POINT, ONCE I GRADUATED, I JUST STARTED TO GO FULL FORCE WITH IT, AND JUST HIT EVERY OPEN MIC I COULD DOWN HERE, IN CHICAGO, AND JUST CONNECT WITH PEOPLE AND NETWORK. AND THEN AFTER THAT IT WAS JUST LIKE THIS IS WHAT I WANT TO DO.
I REALLY DIDN’T MAKE A BIG DEAL OUT OF BEING EMCEE THAT HAPPENED TO BE A FEMALE.
I ACTUALLY LIKE IT BECAUSE I LIKE BEING THE ODD BALL OUT JUST SO I CAN SHOW MY SKILLS AND LET THEM KNOW THAT YOU MAYBE A MALE DOING THIS, BUT I CAN DO IT BETTER.  WHEN I SHOW MY SKILLS, THEY ARE LIKE, OH, AND GET SURPRISED.
I LIKE THE ELEMENT OF SURPRISE.
I LIKE TO JUST SIT BACK AND LET PEOPLE THINK WHAT THEY WANT, AND I JUST SHOW.
I DON’T LIKE TO TALK TOO MUCH.
BUT IF YOU HAVE THE SKILLS, ALL OF THAT DOESN’T MATTER.
IF YOU ARE SPEAKING SOMETHING AND IT HITS HARD AND HITS HOME, THAT’S ALL THAT MATTERS.
BUT ON A GRANDER SCALE OF THINGS, I DO NOT THINK THAT AN ARTIST IS AN ARTIST JUST BECAUSE THEY WANT TO BE.
I FEEL LIKE I AM AN ARTIST DUE TO A HIGHER POWER.
AND THE REASON WHY I DO HIP HOP IN PARTICULAR IS BECAUSE IT IS—IT IS THE MOST OPEN ART FORM.
IT IS NO SUGAR COATING TO IT PRETTY MUCH.
THAT’S WHAT I BELIEVE DRAWS ME TO IT.
I FEEL LIKE EVEN IF I WASN’T DOING HIP HOP, I WOULD STILL BE DOING SOMETHING IN THE ARTISTIC LANE BECAUSE I FEEL THAT’S LIKE WHAT GRAVITATES PEOPLE THE MOST IS ART.
I GO BY THE STAGE NAME “TRUTH” WHICH STANDS FOR REAL END OF THE HATE.
YOU CAN JUST CALL ME AN EMCEE, AND I AM CURRENTLY BASED OUT OF CHAMPAIGN, ILLINOIS, RIGHT NOW.
