In this past February, the famous Bach specialist, Helmut Rilling, died. Rilling was born in Stuttgart, Germany, in 1933. He had the distinction of being the first conductor to record  Johann Sebastian Bach's 200 sacred cantatas, a task which engaged him from 1969 to 1985.
