Live and Local

Sweet Honey in the Rock, and Alexander Platt

Sweet Honey in the Rock is a quintet of Grammy-award-winning African-American women singers—and one sign-language interpreter—who raise their voices, as they say, “in hope, love, justice, peace and resistance.” They’ll come to Urbana Saturday night, and I’ll talk with their longest-serving member on the Friday edition of “Live and Local.” We’ll also meet Alexander Platt, who will conduct the Champaign-Urbana Symphony Sunday night.
