Changes to Drivers License To Move Illinois Closer to REAL ID Compliance

 

Changes are coming to driver’s licenses in the state of Illinois, meant to move the state closer to full compliance with the federal REAL ID Act.

The law gives states until 2018 to come into compliance with federal security standards for state-issued drivers licenses and ID's.

Illinois Public Radio’s Sean Crawford discussed the new procedures with Dave Druker from the Illinois Secretary of State’s office.
