I-57 At C-U to Close for Three Nights
The clposure is required for work on a new bridge over the interstate for Windsor Road.
Work on replacing the Windsor Road bridge will close a stretch of I-57 in southwest Champaign for three nights in a row.
Illinois Transportation officials say the work will close the interstate highway tonight, tomorrow night and Thursday night, from 10 PM until 6 AM.
Detours will be posted during the closures, which will affect I-57 traffic from Monticello Road to I-72. During the closures, construction workers will be setting bridge beams for the new Windsor Street Bridge.
I-DOT says the 2-point-4 million dollar bridge replacement project should be completed by November, weather permitting.
