Paxton Man Dies In Bar Fight
A 49-year-old Paxton man is dead and a 33-year-old man is in custody after a bar fight.
Paxton Police Chief Robert Bane told The News-Gazette that Jeffrey D. Potts of Paxton died early Friday after being found lying on a sidewalk in front of Shooky's Bar in the small town. Potts had been stabbed in the chest.
Bane says 33-year-old Sean Kelley was also found on the sidewalk. Kelley was treated for unspecified injuries and later arrested.
Kelley hasn't entered a plea but faces preliminary charges of aggravated battery and second-degree murder. He's being held on $1 million bond in the Ford County Jail.
Bane didn't know what the fight was about.
