UPDATE: Sangamon Flooding At Monticello

National Weather Service says some minor flooding is already occuring.
 

The Sangamon River is above flood stage at Monticello, and a flood warning continues there until late Saturday afternoon.

On Friday, the river stage was 13.1 feet at 8:45 AM and was still at that level at 8:15 PM. Flood stage is 13 feet.

The National Weather Service predicts the Sangamon to crest at Monticello near 13. 2 feet on Saturday morning --- a little lower than previously forecast. The river should fall below flood stage on Sunday morning, and go down to 12.0 feet on Monday.

The Weather Service reports that some minor flooding was already occurring on Friday, and with more expected in the next few days.
