Sweetcorn Festival Features Variety Of Food, Music
The first Urbana Sweetcorn Festival was held more than 40 years ago. Urbana Business Association Executive Director Paris Blalock says the list of food options keeps expanding, with more than 80 vendors downtown this weekend.
“We have some really good food options," Blalock said. "There’s the 20th anniversary of the Motor Muster Car Show, some great kids activities, so overall the entire weekend there’s a lot of things for everyone to do.”
Last year, the event featured 1980’s alternative bands, like The Psychedelic Furs and The Church.
Blalock says the plan this year was to reach a different demographic, with 90’s country artist Diamond Rio Friday night, and pop band Smash Mouth scheduled for 9:30pm Saturday on the main stage.
The Urbana Sweetcorn Festival continues Saturday from 11:00am to 11:00pm.
