Where To Be For The Fourth Of July

Several events will take place throughout East Central Illinois celebrating the fourth of July. Events will include music, food and fireworks.

Champaign-Urbana

The day will begin with at 5k Run-Walk event.

The youth run begins at 8:30 a.m. and the 5K begins at 9:00 a.m.

The race starts at Florida Avenue between First and Fourth streets across from Memorial Stadium. It finishes halfway between Florida Ave. and St. Mary’s road.

The parade for the Champaign County Freedom Celebration starts at 11:05 a.m.

The route begins at First and Kirby, turns left onto Lincoln, and ends at California and Lincoln Avenue.

Evening events will start at 7 p.m. with musical performances. The featured band is Captain Rat and the Blind Divets.

At roughly 9 p.m. there will be announcements, followed by the national anthem and the annual fireworks display.

Admission and parking are free for the event.

Rantoul

Freedom Celebration at Rantoul National Aviation Center on July third.

There will be music and activities starting at 5:30, followed by fireworks at dusk.

On the fourth, there will be more celebrations from 11:30 am to 5:00 pm at Wabash Park, featuring a dunk tank, a softball tournament, and a baseball game.

The cost for admissions is $5 for ages 13 and over, $1 for 3-12 and free for veterans and toddlers.

A parade will also take place in Rantoul starting at 9 a.m.

There are events at Hap Parker Family Aquatic Center from 6-10 P.M. with family friendly activities.

Monticello

On the third, there's an open house and fireworks at Lodge Park starting at 3 p.m. At around 9:00 there will be announcements and fireworks.

Mahomet

Celebrations will take place at the Lake of the Woods forest preserve. There will be fireworks after 9 p.m.

Tuscola

The celebration features fireworks at dusk at Ervin Park at Main and North Line Road.
