Illinois Public Media hosts local school superintendents for special News, Brews & Beatz conversation
Illinois Public Media is hosting a special edition of News, Brews & Beatz on Wednesday, September 28 in Studio X (WILL-TV) at Campbell Hall. This event is a continuation of Illinois Public Media’s commitment to host local conversations focused on the Black community in central Illinois.
This next installment of News, Brews & Beatz, “It Takes a Village: An Inside Look at Today’s Leadership in Education”, will cover a wide range of topics, including questions about leadership, safety, and the challenges and triumphs in local schools. The conversation will feature local school superintendents from Champaign, Urbana, Danville, and Decatur and will be co-hosted by Illinois Public Media News and Public Affairs Director Reginald Hardwick and Tracy Parsons, Community Relations Manager and Facilitator of Community Coalition.

News, Brews & Beatz is meant to provide a space for diverse voices to engage in breakthrough conversations regarding pressing community issues and allow for realistic solutions to be identified. These events are intended to be engaging, informative, and entertaining while also tackling difficult topics and situations in a head on and direct way.
News, Brews & Beatz also features local artists and musicians, with Wednesday’s event featuring a performance by local spoken word artist Missy Richland. This event will also be offered virtually through Facebook LIVE on Illinois Public Media’s Facebook page.
This event will be taped in front of a studio audience and will air across central Illinois on WILL-TV next month, Thursday, Oct. 13 at 7 pm.
