From the archives you’ll hear Giuseppe Sinopli lead the Philharmonic in Richard Strauss’ tone poems “Also Sprach Zarathustra” and “Death and Transfiguration”.  Also on the program Haydn’s “Harmoniemesse” conducted by Bernstein.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. You’ll hear Haydn’s “Philosopher” Symphony and Strauss’ “Also Sprach Zarathustra”. Christoph Konig guest conducts. Also on the program Richard Danielpour’s “Darkness in the Ancient Valley”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the San Francisco Symphony. Music Director Designate Esa-Pekka Salonen leads the group in Strauss’ “Thus Spoke Zarathustra” and Sibelius’ “Four Legends from the Kalevala”. Also on the program Thorvaldsdottir’s “Metacosmos”.
