Sunday night February 23 at 6:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 you’ll hear Mendelssohn’s “Midsummer Night’s Dream” and his “Double Concerto” on the “Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”. At 7:00 you’ll hear music from Mexico on “Fiesta”.

Also on the program Ravel's "Gaspard de la Nuit" and music of Christopher Rouse.

Program music is defined as music that (usually) has a title given by the composer, written to conjure , for example, an event "Short Ride in a Fast Machine" or place "El Salon meixco", to tell a story, like "Also Sprach Zarathustra" or some other "extra-musical" purpose.

"Gaspard de la nuit" (Gaspard of the Night) was written for piano solo in 1908; premiered in 1909; Constant's orchestration is from 1990.
