Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. Alexander Romanovsky is the piano soloist in Rachmaninoff’s “Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini”. Alan Gilbert conducts. Also on the program Act II from Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker” ballet and Martinu’s “4th Symphony”.

Also to be heard, chamber music by Martinu and Schoenfield, and music from the 11th century on "Early Music Now".

Garrick Ohlsson is the soloist in the Martinu concerto.
