The regional branch of the Illinois Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and International Trade Center (ITC) in Champaign-Urbana is expanding its scope. It will now offer its free services to businesses in the Decatur area as well.

Topflight Grain Cooperative and OmniTRAX have announced a partnership to operate a short line railroad in Decatur, with hopes that prompt busineses to build facilities along the rail line, in order to access the city's Midwest Inland Port.
