The Wildcats never trailed in Sunday's contest, grabbing a 3-0 first inning lead. Kentucky advances to an NCAA Super Regional, while the Illini finish the season at 39-20, the fourth most wins in program history.
The Illini softball split a pair of games on Saturday to advance to the NCAA Regional Final in Lexington, Kentucky. They will face the host Kentucky Wildcats at 11:00am on Sunday.
