Sunday night July 30 at 6:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 you’ll hear Messiaen’s “Quartet for the End of Time” from Santa Fe, followed at 7:00 by Shostakovich’s “Op. 57 Piano Quintet” from Lincoln Center and at 8:00 by “an Ideal Latin American Classical Music Concert” on “Fiesta”.

Sunday night June 19 at 6:00 on FM 90.9 the “Evening Concert” starts with Messiaen’s “Quartet for the End of Time” from Santa Fe, followed at 7:00 by Beethoven’s Op. 20 “Septet” from Lincoln Center and at 8:00 by music of Latino composers in the US on “Fiesta!”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Messiaen’s “Quartet for the End of Time” on “The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”.  At 8:00 enjoy a retrospective on the group Sequentia on “Early Music Now with Sara Schneider”.

In WWII Messiaen spent time as a POW in a concentration camp, which is where he composed his famous "Quartet".
