Dozens of community members of all faiths filled the Central Illinois Mosque and Islamic Center in Urbana Wednesday evening to commemorate the lives of those killed in the attack in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Hundreds of people turned out in Champaign’s West Side Park Tuesday evening to remember the 49 people killed and 52 injured in last weekend’s mass shooting at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida.

After students sent in personal stories about racial oppressions experienced at the U of I campus, many of those students will share their stories with the public at a vigil Thursday evening.
