Today's headlines:

  • The search for more victims and cleanup efforts will continue Monday at the Amazon warehouse in Edwardsville after being struck by an EF-3 tornado Friday night. Officials have confirmed that six employees died, one is in the hospital with serious injuries, and 45 were rescued and reunited with family.

  • Meteorologists confirmed an EF-2 tornado with 125 mile-per-hour winds swept through Coles County on Friday night. Most houses emerged unscathed -- but not the Cox family farmhouse near Mattoon.

  • Meteorologist Chuck Schaffer with the National Weather Service traveled to Shelby, Moutrie and Douglas Counties, among others, to see whether storm damage from Friday night showed any evidence of being caused by tornadoes.

In today's deep dive, we'll speak with meteorologist Andrew Pritchard about Friday night’s severe storms and what listeners should take away from seeing tornadoes in December.
