Today's headlines:

  • Gov. JB Pritzker is pushing back the timeline for Illinois to expand COVID capacity limits when the state enters a so-called "bridge phase" to normalcy.

  • No major damage has been reported after severe storms swept through Central Illinois Monday night.

  • For the first time in 13 months, the Illinois economy is expanding, according to the University of Illinois Flash Index.

  • Champaign County's seven-day average for daily vaccine doses has fallen to just over 1,100. That is its lowest point since late March. Nearly 35 percent of the county's total population is fully vaccinated.

In today's deep dive, studies show that Black and Hispanic patients are less likely to get imaging like X-rays and MRIs in an emergency. We look at the consequences of those disparities.
