The holidays are filled with all sorts of traditions. Maybe you get together with loved ones around the table for a big meal, or perhaps your family gathers around the couch for some quality movie time.

Whether you’re more interested in seeing if Ralphie finally gets that Red Ryder BB Gun, or perhaps Bing Crosby has you dreaming of a White Christmas, one thing is clear: There’s no shortage of options when it comes to your holiday film binge.

So where should you start this year? We rounded up some of the best—and worst—holiday films with two Illinois film aficionados. Reggie Ponder, otherwise known as "The Reel Critic," is a resident film critic for Vocalo 90.7 FM in Chicago and member of the African-American Film Critics Association. And Clint Worthington is editor-in-chief of "The Spool" and senior writer and film critic for “Consequence of Sound."
