Young jazz singer takes musical inspiration from Great American Songbook

Jazz singer Stella Cole is based in New York City, but she was born and raised in Springfield, Illinois. She performed in local theater and then studied it at Northwestern.
 
But it wasn’t until Cole was home during the COVID-19 pandemic that her singing career started to take off. Today, she has more than 1.5 million followers across TikTok, Instagram and beyond.Cole talks about her unique style of music and her influences today on the 21st.
