A painful time for Illinois sports fans
As we go to air Friday morning, Illinois time, the Chicago White Sox are one loss away from being the losingest team in modern baseball history. The Chicago Sky fired head coach Teresa Weatherspoon after just one season. Under her leadership, the Sky went 13-27 in her first year in charge, and missed the playoffs for the first time since 2018. And Chicago Bulls' Derrick Rose announced his retirement. On the flipside, the Fighting Illini football team has gone undefeated for the first part of their season, the first time since 2011.
Is it a bad time to be a sports fan in Illinois?
