In Illinois, the Governor's Mansion in Springfield serves as the residency for the governor and their family, and the hub for the state's social settings. The 168-year-old building has a very rich history, dating back to before the Civil War. The mansion's history and its renovations have been documented by Illinois' First Lady, MK Pritzker, through a new coffee-table book called A House that Made History: The Illinois Governor's Mansion, Legacy of an Architectural Treasure.
