Congresswoman Nikki Budzinski on SNAP cuts, possible deployment of troops to Illinois, Israel’s war in Gaza

Congresswoman Nikki Budzinski is in her second term representing the 13th district in Central Illinois. It was drawn to give Democrats an opportunity in an otherwise Republican part of the state, and includes some or all of Champaign-Urbana, Decatur, Springfield, and the Metro East part of Illinois near St. Louis.

During Congress’ August recess, Budzinski has been back and forth across the district on a media tour. She gave her thoughts about a variety of issues on today's program including the consequences of pending government food-aid and health care cuts and dissatisfaction among some Democratic voters with their elected leaders.

Budzinski also responded to criticism from some constituents on her support for Israel as it's war in Gaza has killed more than 60,000 Palestinians since October 7, 2023.
