COVID-19 Updates From Around The State

Empty streets in downtown DeKalb.
As of March 30, 2020, the Illinois Department of Public Health reported 5,057 confirmed cases of coronavirus disease in our state.
During Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s Sunday news conference, he said that Illinois was testing roughly four thousand people a day but that number needed to be closer to 10,000 tests a day. Pritzker said more testing will let public health officials create better mathematical models, to see whether the shutdowns and social distancing requirements are actually working. A panel of journalists joined The 21st to discuss how each region has been affected.
