Democratic congressional candidate Julie Fortier on economy, gun laws, and Southern Illinois voters
Charlie Queen
Illinois' 12th district spans almost the bottom third of Illinois. Republican Congressman Mike Bost has been representing the district since 2015. He won both past elections under the current maps with 75% of the vote. The 21st show is working with Bost's campaign to schedule a conversation in the coming weeks.
Julie Fortier is challenging Bost this year for the seat in the November mid-terms. She’s a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. She’s lived in O’Fallon for more than three decades and her main line of work since then has been in science. Fortier has a Ph.D. in research pathology. She joins today's program to discuss the needs of Southern Illinois residents as well as current policy issues.
