Brood X of cicadas have also made themselves heard in Clark, Crawford, and Edgar counties in Illinois, and in 16 other Midwestern and Eastern states. To talk about what a “brood” is, when we can expect these cicadas to leave and when the rest of the state can expect a hatch, The 21st spoke with a scientific specialist.
