ENCORE: Summer Songs Still Play On

Illinois Newsroom

Editor's Note: This segment originally aired in June 2020.

One of the many events that have been postponed to the disappointment of music fans are summer concerts. From Pitchfork in Chicago to Summer Camp in Chillicothe — music festivals have announced cancelations or postponements during the pandemic. And even lingering in a record store to browse new music carries a certain level of risk right now. Thus, we wanted to offer some summer music recommendations, from artists both here in central Illinois and around the world.

Guests:

Christine Pallon, performer and DIY show promoter in Urbana and board member of Girls Rock CU

Brian Galecki, owner of Dumb Records in Springfield
