“Forever Chemicals” Found in Illinois Drinking Water

When we think about chemicals in our drinking water, our minds often go to Flint, Michigan, but there are other potential health threats in our taps much closer to home. More than 100 community drinking water sources in the state show contamination of PFAS, also known as "forever chemicals," because they can take hundreds or thousands of years to break down in the environment and in the body.
