Other presidents have promised it before - to cut wasteful government spending and beaurocracy. Now, President-elect Donald Trump is making that promise again ahead of his second term. And this time he's enlisted the help of two unelected billionaires -- Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, who together make up the newly-proposed Department of Government Efficiency.

DOGE is proposing mass layoffs of federal workers, rolling back regulations, and eliminating entire departments. Critics worry that could have very real effects for people around the country ... and  in Illinois.

A panel of experts on goverment employees and policies related to this join today's program to analyze these potential effects.
