How did Pope Francis’ views on immigration influence the Catholic Church?

Pope Francis spent 12 years as the head of the Roman Catholic Church. In that time, he focused a significant part of his public messaging on the plight of migrants and refugees.Policy questions about migration have come into focus all over the world in the past decade, with the wealthiest nations in Europe and the Americas being a destination for untold number of people displaced by war and violence.
