The Democratic leaders of the Illinois General Assembly had planned on being done by now — off on their summer recess. But they have yet to come to agreement on a state budget — owing in part to some tough decisions that have to be made without the extra cash state government had on hand during the pandemic. 

To talk about what lawmakers got done this spring and what is still left on the table, The 21st was joined by two Illinois statehouse reporters.
