It's time for our Friday Reporter Roundtable, today we're focusing on DeKalb and Rockford.

We'll kick off the show by hearing about a vote the school board of Belvidere District 100 took on, which was to decide whether or not to close one of its elementary schools.

Next, we'll talk about an Illinois Valley Community College student who recently won the Paul Simon Essay Contest. We will also hear about an organization that held an event focusing on substance use recovery for Mental Health Awareness Month.

Then, we'll learn about a competition that highlighted female barbers that was hosted by a Midwest organization that uplifts beauty professionals.

We'll close off our show by learning about a few nature organizations in Rockford, offering nature walks in places normally off-limits to the public.
