IL’s top doc talks about COVID, monkeypox & more
Dr. Sameer Vohra, new Illinois Dept. of Public Health Director Southern Illinois University School of Medicine
On August 1, 2022, Gov. JB Pritzker (D-IL) appointed Dr. Sameer Vohra to be the Illinois Department of Public Health Director. He is the department chair at Southern Illinois University's School of Medicine. He also received his medical doctorate at SIU, and before that received his masters degree at the University of Chicago, majoring in public policy.
