Interview: Congressman Darin LaHood

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker is scheduled to be in Peoria on July 30, 2020, reminding people there that the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 are going in the wrong direction. Peoria County is one of a handful around Illinois that are on “warning level” for coronavirus disease. Meanwhile, in Washington, members of Congress are debating whether to pass another COVID-19 economic relief package.  It comes on the same day it was announced that the U.S. economy plunged by a record-shattering 32.9% annual rate last quarter, and the coronavirus is still cutting a path of destruction, forcing millions out of work and shuttering businesses. 

To talk more about the relief bill, President Donald Trump's thoughts about delaying the November Election and more, The 21st checks in with Rep. Darin LaHood (R) who represents the 18th congressional district in Illinois.
