June 13, 2025: Pritzker goes to DC to defend sanctuary status while ICE officers target migrants outside courts

WASHINGTON (AP) — Republicans in Congress called several Democratic governors to Washington on Thursday to question them over policies limiting cooperation with federal immigration authorities. Gov. JB Pritzker (D-IL) said violent criminals “have no place on our streets, and if they are undocumented, I want them out of Illinois and out of our country.”

Block Club Chicago - At least 10 people were arrested at check-ins under an ICE monitoring program for immigrants, and an alderman said he was thrown to the ground by agents while protesting the arrests.
