The White House Art

With a new presidential administration comes new policy priorities, new staff, a new family and pets roll in the White House. The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum in Springfield recently received a painting back that had been on loan to the Trump White House. The portrait of Lincoln had hung in then-Vice President Mike Pence’s office for the last three years.

To talk more about what goes in to loaning at artifacts and some of the symbolism behind White House art choices, The 21st speaks to a freelance writer and the registrar of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum.
