Mandy Shunnarah’s new book looks at the vibrant skating culture of the Midwest

Skating is a small but vibrant part of our culture.

Mandy Shunnarah has been a part of that culture for years. They’re a writer, a skater, and, in their own words, “Southern by birth and Midwestern by the grace of Menards.”

Mandy traveled across the Midwest to document skating culture. Some of the stories and lessons from that trip can be found in their new book, “Midwest Shreds: Skating Through America’s Heartland.”
