Our last conversation around the work of the Invisible Institute highlights its partnership with Illinois Public Media. One of several pieces to come out of this partnership was titled, “Champaign Police investigate ‘agency culture’ of not following domestic violence reporting laws.”

The story went on to be recognized with a regional award from the Society of Professional Journalists and took second place in Collaborative Effort from the Public Media Journalists Association.

Today we are joined by reporter Farrah Anderson and editor Sam Stecklow. They'll talk about how these investigations into the Champaign Police Department came about, what some of the challenges were and the response they have gotten from the community.
