As of the morning of June 24, 2020, the Illinois Department of Public Health says there are 137,825 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 6,707 lives lost. However, the data for COVID-19 confirmed cases and deaths are continually trending downwards in Illinois, unlike in many other states. 

The 21st spoke with two county public health officials about how COVID-19 is affecting their communities.
