Is the Democratic Party lost? Where is it going? Are Democrats listening to and trying to keep their base, or are they trying to make inroads with other voters? And how is it responding to the many challenges presented by the Trump administration? Like so many politicians, Stacey Abrams seeks to address some of these questionss in her podcast “Assembly Required with Stacey Abrams”
Abrams was minority leader of the Georgia House of Representatives for six years. She founded Fair Fight Action to address voter suppression and she was the Democratic nominee for governor of Georgia in 2018 and 2022 — the first Black woman to be a major-party gubernatorial nominee in the U.S. Although she lost both of those elections, she has been credited with increasing voter turnout in Georgia, paving the way for Joe Biden to win the state in 2020 and two Democrats to be elected to the Senate.
She joins the program today.
