Republican Senate Candidate Don Tracy on Israel, ICE, and the future of MAGA and the GOP

Don Tracy is the former chairman of the Illinois Republican Party and a candidate for the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate. The current office-holder, Dick Durbin, is retiring at the end of his term..

Tracy was born in Urbana and raised in Mount Sterling-a small town in rural western Illinois and he’s the oldest of 12 children. He attended Western Illinois University, earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Arizona State and received his law degree from the University of Memphis.

He’s been an attorney for more than 50 years and is currently senior counsel at Brown, Hay & Stephens — a firm that boasts a young Abraham Lincoln among its former members.Tracy previously ran for lieutenant governor in 2010 and served as the head of the state's Gaming Board under Governor Bruce Rauner. He is one of eight Republicans who filed for the 2026 primary. Tracy weighs in on issues that he may face if elected.
