Illinois Universities And Colleges Respond To The Coronavirus Pandemic

Just as students were packing up to leave campus for spring break, many received instructions not to come back. There’s been a stream of university announcements around Illinois suspending in-person classes, closing residence halls and cancelling events. We checked in with Illinois Newsroom education reporter Lee Gaines and WBEZ senior editor Kate Grossman for updates on university plans and how students are handling the sudden changes to their spring semester.
