Illinois schools are closed for in-person instruction for at least the rest of this academic year. And that has parents and guardians across the state worried about what that means for their kids’ education.

We’re devoting most of today’s episode to issues around education, and begin by talking to someone who spent her career thinking about teaching and curriculum and related topics.

Jeanette Mines is emeritus dean of the College of Education at Lewis University in Romeoville. We began by talking about whether parents are right to be concerned about their kids falling behind, over the course of their lives, because of the in-person instruction they’re missing now.
