This week's Afternoon at the Opera: Richard Wagner's Die Meistersinger von Nurnberg from the Bayreuth Festival in Bayreuth, Germany.

From the Bayreuth Festival in Bayreuth, Germany comes one of the longest operas commonly performed today. Wagner’s dramatic opera Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg  follows a guild of master singers and poets as its members compete for various affections. The talented cast of characters include Georg Zeepenfeld as the historical figure Hans Sachs, Jonhmin Park as Pogner,  Michael Spyres as Walther von Stolzing, and Christina Nilsson as Eva.
