Lounge On The Rocks (137)

This time around, the show is titled Lounge on the Rocks. Which kind of has a double meaning. Primarily, we’re looking at how lounge artists adapted to the changing musical landscape in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Rock and pop were taking over. The old standards once made lounge artists stars seem old and out of fashion. In order to survive, these hi-fi artists had to change what they were doing to fit the current musical tastes. Some people handled it well, others not so much. We’ll hear from Julie London, Wayne Newton, Sammy Davis Jr. and many others.
