The Cha-Cha or cha-cha-cha—however you want to call it, is that famous Latin dance with slow-slow quick-quick-quick dance steps. The cha-cha-cha that most people sounded out in their heads or more often than not, out loud within the song. The dance born in Cuba and shares its DNA with the Mambo. And like the mambo, the cha-cha was all the rage for a while in the late 1950s and early 1960s. This time on the program, we take a look at some of the wild and wonderful cha-cha records that came out during the height of the cha-cha craze. We’ll hear from Abbe Lane, Della Reese, Tito Puente, and many others!
